Ortho Evra Application?

Ok, I'm confused. It (the package insert) says not to touch the sticky part with your fingers, but it doesn't say why... This is really disconcerting. I don't TRY to touch it, but it can be very hard not to. Does this mean that I need to throw it away because it is ruined, or just that I need to wash my hands. Thanks for the answers. I know this might be a stupid question, but I don't know what to do. =)

Thanks! Abs

I am not too familar with the Patch or the package insert, but i am thinking that maybe they don't want you to touch the sticky part because it can compromise the stickyness and possibly cause it to fall off or not be as sticky before the patch change date. Its just a preventative measure to ensure that your patch will stay on your body for that week. I wouldn't throw it away, because from what i hear a replacement patch can be pricy. I'd just limit how much you do touch the sticky part, i can imagine it would be quite difficult to not touch it at all. I hope this helps and someone else might have more to say on why you shouldn't touch the sticky part.
