Hello,

I wrote a couple weeks ago, about restarting bc b/c my fiance and I are getting married in Nov. I was trying to time it so that I wouldnt have a period near the 6th, so I started my pack a few weeks ago. My period was supposed to come around the 26th and I wasnt sure if It would b/c I would be at the beginning of the pack. Well It turns out I did, I guess. The only thing Im worried about is that the blood is really dark, almost black. Is that normal? Also, Will I get another period when I take the Placebo pills. My worry is that I will continue to get it around the 26th of next month as well, then that runs into my wedding date. Should I Skip the placebo pills next month to be safe? Any feedback will help. Thanks.

Hi Holly, welcome back!

The dark blood is nothing to worry about. It just means that your flow was light and it is 'old' blood, that took a while to discharge and the iron in it has oxidized, just as the scab on a cut turns brown. I don't think I'd ship them all but skipping a few of the placebos would be a good way to give yourself a bit more space. Let us know how you're doing, ok?

Good luck,

So you started the pack mid-cycle? If that's the case, you'll probably bleed again during the placebo pills of this pack, but you shouldn't have bleeding until the next placebo week in the next pack unless you have breakthrough bleeding next month, which we can't predict. But hopefully everything will go okay for your wedding! You're probably bleeding now because you ovulated early in the pack of pills or before you started taking them, and once you ovulate, your period is going to come no matter what. But with the pill, now at least, you shouldn't be ovulating anymore and your periods should only come during the placebo pills.

Make sense? I hope so, if not, holler!
