Seasonale side effect question

Howdy, all. I am 29yrs old, and have been on Seasonale for... I think I'm in my 4th week now. I have been on Ortho since I was in my teens, and had Ortho Lo for a year or so before I started the Seasonale.

I have read a lot about the breakthrough bleeding, so that's not the issue. I'm prepared for that... but I'm COLD all the time since I started this BCP. I mean, I am usually the one that's cold in any room, it seems, but since a couple of days after I started these BCP, I have been shivering off and on... for example, in my office, I have a digital thermostat. Right now it reads 79 degrees. I am wearing a warm tutrle-neck sweater , and I'm almost comfortable. I can get in bed at night and have a sheet and 2 blankets on me and my chin shivers like I'm out in the snow on Christmas morning!

I forgot to take my pill on Sunday (after all these years you would think it would be hard to forget, I know, but laundry and kids got me all distracted!) and on Monday, I went to take the one from Sunday and Monday, but dropped them in the dirty dishwater in the sink! Ugh! Story of my life... (not worried about effectivness of the Pill, I'd love to be pg now, but he disagrees) - the point being that on Monday, I felt like I was comfortable, temp-wise, all day. I took my pill yesterday morning as scheduled, and I'm shivering again. Is this a hormone thing? Or a bigger problem - circulation or something?

I also take Lexapro, an anti-depressant, and Tylenol Severe Allergy. I have taken both of these before, with no side-effects.

Any input would be helpful. I don't have insurance, so going in to make sure all is well is pretty much out of the question.

have a great day!

I'm also on Seasonale. I'm in my 9th week. During the day I get a little chilly at my desk at work. I only have felt this within the last few weeks. I'm dealing with that other side effect that lots of women are talking about.....btb. Now my gyno wants me to see a hematologist to make sure all the bleeding is not from the pill but from something else. I guess hormone imbalance? I don't know but it's scaring me. I have an appt tomorrow with another gyno for a 2nd opinion. I hope you are one of the lucky ones that doesn't have any btb....

take care,

Heidi

I too have been on Seasonale and Lexapro and sinus/allergy meds at the same time. I felt what you are feeling when I first started on this bcp, but it does get better. I am on my third cycle (almost one year).

I went from burning up all the time, to freezing. Now I am at a more even keel and it is nice. Don't fret over it too much unless your fingers or toes turn blue, then see a doctor stat. Personally I would rather be cold than hot, at least you can always add clothes. Good luck!

Yay! It's so nice to know I'm not losing my mind! Thank you for your post. I have been much warmer the last 2 days, and it's such a relief to not shiver all the time. But I did start sleeping with socks on, which is when I started to notice the difference. Whatever works!

Thanks so much! have a great day!
