Hi everyone.

I wan to start going on birth control for my cramping and also as a contraceptive but I'm a little weary about some things. I've spoken to my doctor and I've spoken to friends who are also on birth control. I have a package of alesse 28 and I've just began my period yesterday. It usually lasts 3 days but in case it happens to last until Sunday or even past Sunday, do I still take my first pill on Sunday too? Also, I got my first package of Alesse for free from my doctor, is there a difference in price from the 28 to the 21 pack? I'm taking it a few months ahead of the time that I'm expecting to have sex not because I'm trying to plan it but because I've heard it's good to start a couple cycles before so your body gets used to it and also because it helps a lot with cramps and irregular cycles.

Thanks

ash

Years ago I took allesse (both the 21's and 28's)...Sometimes if my pharmacy was out of one they would substitute the other....I don't remember there being a price difference-but every insurance plan's different-you should check to see if it's covered (if you have insurance).....I didn't have any problems while on that particular pill.Yeah,it is a good idea to let your body get used to the hormones and let you get in the habit of taking the pill every day before relying on it as your only protection.GOOD LUCK
