Does anyone know of a birth control that dosen't mess with your blood sugar? I have a very sensitive blood sugar. Recently was on the yasmin pill and it really messed me up.

Hi jamapug, welcome!

Your choice of a method may depend on why you are having blood sugar problems. Are you Diabetic? Combined hormonal contraceptives can affect the user’s blood sugar which can be a problem for diabetics. An IUD can also be a danger for a diabetic since it might increase the risk of an infection. Perhaps, for you, hormones or an IUD won't be ruled out, but, if they are that would leave barriers and spermicides. Your best bet is to have a long talk with your doctor and see what s/he recommends. Let us know what s/he says, ok?

Good luck,

I have a little problem. I don't have health insurance to go see a doctor about this stuff. I don't have diabetes, but i do have an alergy to sugar, flour, artifical sweetners. My body can't handle them , so my blood sugar is very sensitive.

Planned Parenthood has a means tested scale of prices. See their clinic finder at: http://www.plannedparenthood.org/Zip.htm or, you could try your local public health clinic.

Good luck,
