Hi Everyone-

I just have a few questions. I have been on ortho-tri-cyclen lo for over a year now. I switched from ortho-tri-cyclen. I was on that for about two years before switiching to the lo, when the lo came out. Is anyone else taking ortho-lo? If so what are your thoughts on the pill?

Thanks :)

I switched recently from OTC to OTC-Lo and I havent noticed much change. I have been on the pill for 5 years and have had stubborn breakthrough bleeding throughout. I have noticed that the BTB with OTC-Lo is much less which has been nice. So far its been good for me.

Okay, I'm glad there were two positivie at least!! Yikes, this thread really freaked me out. I'm on my second day of OTC Lo and now I'm scared about what's going to happen to me on it. How soon do side effects show up? LOL So far so good, but after reading this thread, I'm not so sure.

--EVERY-- pill will give some women side effects! And other women won't have side effects at all. OTC Lo is a very popular pill right now, so there are lots of women out giving feedback, particularly women who have had trouble with this pill or another pill and are in the market for something different. Let's face it, if you're satisfied with your birth control, unless you want to be social with the friendly chicks here (and the dude that showed up recently ;) ), you aren't going to be on a message board to talk about how satisfied you are with your pill, right?

Side effects can technically show up any time, but usually if you're going to have them, you'll know in the first month. And most of the time they go away, but if they don't, you can always switch to something else. Take heart! A lot of women do well on a lot of pills!

I'm a newbie to Ortho Lo, so new in fact that tomorrow will be my fourth day on it. After reading all these posts, I'm a little scared now that I'm going to have some wretched side effects. So far I'm doing ok, but now I'm paranoid that one day I'm just gonna get sick or have BTB...hopefully nothing will happen. How long (average) does it take for side effects to make themselves known? Also, does it help to take the pill with food or is it ok to take it with just water? Thanks.

Hi roxy1385,

This is an information and support board so you are going to get a lot more posts from women with questions or complaints than those who come here to tell us how great their method or pill is. Most women get along fine with their pill. Any annoying side affects usually appear within the first month and disappear by the end of the 3rd cycle. You've read the pill posts in the FAQs, right? If not you should as there is a lot of good information there for new pill users. Try not to worry, I'll bet you do just fine on OTC-Lo.

Take care,

      Jill
