Wondering about birth control?

In a recent article I read about BC it was said that it is possible to skip having a period by taking the Pill continuously, is it safe to do this? I viewed information at www.noperiod.com about it, can you help me to know if this is right or not.
Thanks for any information!

Skipping periods is something you should discuss with your doctor. I think for most women who want to it's perfectly safe but it doesn't work for everyone. There is a pill, Seasonale, packaged in an 84/7 regimen, that allows you to have only 4 periods a year. Skipping can, and has been done for years with regular 21/7 regimen monophasic pills. A monophasic pill is one with the same dosage of hormones in all active pills in the pack. Women who try skipping while on a triphasic pill, one in which there are three different dosages of hormones over the three weeks of active pills, have a much lower success rate. Thanks for posting,
Take care,
Jill
