Take the last pill?

Yesterday I posted a question (in which no one replied) where I mentioned that I have been delaying my period this week by taking an extra weeks worth of ortho cyclen. No spotting at all like i said, but last night my boyfriend was touching me and I started bleeding a bit afterwards. The bleeding wasn't like one spot, as if he had accidently cut me, but it was mostly lightish like the beginning of a period. So is it possible that all that touching could have trigged my period sooner? I'm taking my last pill today and should be getting my period this coming tuesday. But if I continue to see spotting today should I take my last pill anyways? I figure if I don't take my last pill then that would be changing my start date, am I right? help please :(

Hi kelli085, welcome!

You are right, you should take your last pill if you want to retain your start date!

Moving or skipping periods can be a very individual thing. You had the best chance on a monophasic like Ortho Cyclen. I think, if your BF was just touching you, your endometrium was already unstable and you would have started spotting very soon anyway. It could be that his touching and your arousal was enough to trigger the bleeding a bit early. If you are already spotting then after today’s pill you might start full flow earlier than Tuesday. Remember, the pack that now has 2 weeks of actives remaining in it can only be used for spares or to extend your cycle for a few days. Let us know how you’re doing, ok?

Good luck,
