Hey Guys, I really need some advise here.

I decided to skip my period last month and not take the placebo pills. Well it delayed it for a week, when my period came it lasted for 2 weeks! I am usually a 5 day girl. Anyways, finally the 2 weeks were over and now it's started again, 1 week from when it stopped. (It stopped on the 4th of October & just started again today). As you can quite imagine I am, pissed! Anyone else have these problems? Anyone else skip pills and have these problems? Please help!

Thanks!

Not everyone can skip periods with the pill! It's a great idea in theory, but for some of us it just doesn't pan out. Irregular bleeding is not uncommon when you start extending the length of a cycle, particularly with the very low dose pills--very low estrogen doses (20mcg or less) mean that the progestin dose is also very low, and progestin is what you need to keep the lining of your uterus stable. I tried to skip a period completely with the ring, I got to 5 or so weeks and then I started bleeding. I can go a week, but not more.

After you take the placebo pills in your current pack and start a new pack, everything should go back to normal. If it doesn't, call your doctor! Good luck!
