Could the pill be making my ovulate
| Wed, 10-13-2004 - 11:34am |
Hi ladies,
I just had a baby on July 7, 2004. After 6 weeks, I got on the pill, my doctor started me on Yasmin. I have been off BCP's for 3 years will TTC, never had regular cycle and finally had to take meds for ovulation to get pregnant.
I know the pills are lower dose now and I have been having pains, like I am ovulating, and a lot of discharge. Just curious if there is a chance the pills could be making me ovulate or just likely effects from the pill.
Thanks for any advice.

Congratulations on the new addition to your family!
Hormonal contraceptives suppress ovulation and combined pills such as Yasmin suppress ovulation very effectively so I don't think what you are experiencing are symptoms of ovulation. You have been on Yasmin about 2 cycles and it usually takes 3 cycles or so for your body to adjust to the hormones in your pills so I think your body is probably still adjusting. You might want to ask your doctor what s/he thinks is going on. Thanks for posting. Let us know how you're doing, ok?
Take care,
Jill
