Hi! im back again in need of some advice about ortho-tricyclen lo. So, Ive been taking the pills for about 4 months now, and normally i get my period 2-3 days into my placebo pills. Well, Im already on my 4th day of placebos and have no signs of getting my period. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative, and i have never missed any pills, and i normally take them at the same time each day (give or take 1-2 hours at most) since im doing everything right im not that worried, plus my pt - first response- came back negative. so my question is, is it common to skip periods while on the pill even if you arent trying to skip them? should i take another test?

Hi bebe808, welcome back!

I wouldn't say it's common, but skipping periods can happen, especially on low estrogen pills when not enough lining builds up to shed. I don't think you have anything to worry about this time but if you skip 2 periods in a row then you might want to talk to your doctor about it. Thanks for posting.

Take care,
