HOW DO YOU KNOW IF BC IS WORKING???????

I've been on bc Alesse 28 for two weeks now and I've had sex once. I read somewhere that you know your bc is working if your vaginal mucus isn't so much and that means your more infertile or something. My vaginal mucus is pretty heavy and I'm not sure if that's because my libido is kinda raging for another round (lol) or cuz it's not working.

How do I know if it's working. I started taking it the Sunday after my period finished, I'm not on medecation, I take it at the same time (Wed I took it a little later because I forgot BAD BAD BAD) but anyways yea I'm fine but I'm scared it's not working. We use condoms as a back up but should it be working, right?

What other signs are there that it is working?

Thanks

Ash

There is no way to know its working. The pill changes your cervical fluids. For some women that translates into more cervical fluid every day of the month. For others that translates into less.

Theoretically if you ovulated there might be some egg white cervical fluid, but that can also just happen from the pill's mechanism itself. The progestin in your pills raises your temperature, so you can't temp to know its working. Basically you just have to trust it :)

as long as you take your pill,it'll work....you have to take it correctly though (same time each day-no skipped pills)....The pill effects each woman differently-it might make your vaginal secretions drier than others....but ovulation causes some women to secrete more (like egg whites) for a day or so around ovulation time....If you're that worried you could always test if you're late.
