Does the ring...

have a higher risk of blood clots than the pill? I remember hearing that the Patch does, but I haven't heard about the Ring... Also, I am about to start using the ring in a few days and I was wondering if anyone could help me? How do you know its in where it is supposed to be? and will my boyfriend be able to feel it? Ok, thanks a lot!

The package says that the risk for clots is the same as the pill but more than low dose pills. I don't know about the patch. I tried the patch and it made me kinda sick for the first week or so of every cycle. If the patch is in, then it is ok. It will be getting the drug into you unless it slips out. I have heard that one couple did not like it during intercourse because he could feel it so they would take it out for sex and then put it back right away. This was suppossed to be ok as long as it was not left out for too long. I did get one reply back from a girl that loved her ring. She used it for a year and then went off to get pregnant, and planned on going back on it after. She had no negative side effects and could not sing its praises enough. The only reason I haven't used my samples yet is because I kept thinking I may want to get pregnant. I think I have finally decided not to, so will be starting this next month. Best wishes. Jules
I use the ring and I have for about a year. I'm pretty satisfied with it. I'm not quite sure of a higher risk of blood clots. Unfortunately with these hormonal birth control methods there are risks involved and some unpleasant side effects. Maybe someone will have that information for you.
As far as using your ring, it is pretty easy. Once you insert it, it is in place. I check mine everyonce in awhile, sometimes it sits very far up and other times it is not too far in. There is no wrong or right position. Some women have stopped using the ring because it won't stay in or it bothers them. My boyfriend sometimes removes it and sometimes he doesn't when he are having sex. It really doesn't bother me either way. You can take it out for as long as 3 hours at a time. It has even happened once or twice where he will be "wearing" it...it actually is kinda funny.
Good luck and if you have more questions, just ask :)
