Okay, I am going slightly crazy. I started back on birth control about three and a half months ago. I took Ortho Tri Cyclen for a few years and had no problems with it, however, this time I was placed on Ortho Cept. I know for the first few months irregular bleeding is normal, but starting in my third month I was bleeding (just a little) every day. This went on long enough that I got pissed and stopped taking the pill. That was about two weeks ago, and to this day, I am still bleeding. I bled heavily as I normally do on my "real" period for a few days, stopped for a day, and then started with the bleeding just a little bit again. I am absolutely going crazy. I know there is nothing I can actually do about it, and I don't have health insurance so I can't call my doctor... I was just wondering, has anyone else experienced anything like this? Will it ever stop or do I have to kill myself now? Sorry if this was graphic.

Thanks!

Actually, you should call a doctor, even if you don't have health insurance--phone calls (to most clinics and offices) don't cost you anything. Stopping the pill mid-pack can cause some strange bleeding episodes, which are no big deal most of the time, but sometimes they do need attention. If your doctor's office feels it's no big deal, you might have to ride it out and see what happens next. As good as modern medicine is, we still can't control or explain exactly what happens with anything related to hormones!

The bleeding will have to stop eventually, but you never know if your doctor might have a solution that would make it stop sooner. Have you ever tried a Planned Parenthood clinic? They offer services on a sliding scale, so the fees are dependent upon your ability to pay. If you want to go back on the pill again, you might ask your care provider if you can go back to OTC since you liked it the last time!

Good luck....
