ok i went to the dr yesterday and he has changed my precription for me the patch just dident stick well. ok so he gave me the nuva ring like i wanted yhooo. any way hubby is bringing the prescription home tonight the thing is i should be putting on my second patch today should i go ahaid and finish out this months worth of patches so i dont get all crazy with my period. if i went ahaid and took todays patch off and put in the ring today i would just be skipping this months period and i would take the ring out in three weeks and get another period. Hubby told me just to rip the dumb patch off and wate tell i get a period then start using the ring and we wouldnt have sex( he is going into the field any way) but whe he dosesnt understand is your periods may take time to come back after you stop bc. but he was trying so any ways ladies what do you think i should do. wate another two weeks for my patch free week and my period or take the dumb patch off today and start using the ring now and just skip this months period.just some advise i dont know what to do.

You have been having periods while on the patch, right? It may take a while after you stop bc for _ovulation_ to return, but usually when you stop giving your body hormones (ie, taking the placebo pills, having your patch-free week, stopping mid-cycle) your body does have a period because the hormones are no longer supporting the lining of your uterus and it sheds.
Anyways, I think calling your doctor would be your best bet, or even ask your pharmacists. A little phone call is free and can give you some peace of mind over this :)

I agree, it's probably best to call your doctor. We've had some members whose doctors have told them to finish out what they're currently doing and other whose doctors have told them to switch immediately and just deal with whatever bleeding issues might pop up. If you ask your doc and something goes wrong, at least he can't say "we didn't tell you to do it that way"!
Good luck, I hope you like the ring!
