Hi everyone. I have a question. I have been on a low dose of the pill for three months. The higher doses I tried originally made me too sick so my doctor lowered my prescription. I went through the first two months with no side effects other than getting a little emotional during week 2 :). This month, my pharmacy closed early on the Sunday I was supposed to start so I took 2 pills on the first monday. Through that whole week I felt nauseous at night but not too bad. (I take my pill at 10:00 pm) The monday of this week (my second week) my breast became very tender and have been for the past 3 days. Is it normal for me to have side effect now when I didn't them the first two months?

I have been worrying about it because the Sunday that i was supposed to start my pill my boyfriend and I had sex. He did not ejaculate although, I completely know that that does not mean anything which is why I am a little scared. Is it possible that I could have gotten pregnant the day after my period finished when I am on the pill and my boyfriend did not ejaculate. I know its possible, but do you think I should be stressing out about it??? Thank you so much for your help!!!

Did you have sex before you were supposed to take your pill on that Sunday? Your body wouldn't have known whether you were going to start on time or not, so that would have been okay. Starting the pack late, though, is bad--I hope you used backup last week! It is possible for things to be different this month. Because you missed the first pill of your pack, it is possible for you to have ovulated last week (the first week of pills), and that can do some screwy things hormonally considering that you're also taking the pill.

I think I'd chalk it all up to having missed that first pill--it's the most important pill to take on time, that and the last active pill in the pack.

Good luck!
