Hi Michelle, I use Tri-Sprintec (which is the generic for Ortho Tri-Cyclen). I buy it at Target's for $10 (insurance). It works just as well as the brand. I used the brand for a year before my doctor advised me to switch to the generic (financially it was a better way to go). Hope that helps!

Hi Michelle, welcome back!

The hormones and prescribing information for Ortho Cyclen and OTC are the same. The only difference in the pills is the smaller amounts of progestin in the first and second weeks of OTC. See: http://www.orthotri-cyclen.com/about/pi.html Does this help? Let us know how you like Ortho Cyclen, ok?

Good luck,

I've taken both Ortho Cyclen and Sprintec, OC for about 7 months and Sprintec for only 1. I felt a difference between Ortho Cyclen and Sprintec, but I'm *extremely* sensitive to certain progestins! It's not a bad pill for most women, just like any other you'll have to wait and see how you do on it. It's just the same, for quick reference, as the third week of Ortho Tri Cyclen. You can also look up the hormone doses and compare them in "Your Pills and What's In Them" in the FAQ section.

Good luck!
