OTC question....
| Fri, 10-22-2004 - 6:04pm |
Okay, so here I go again...I posted the other day about whether or not I could bump my period back a day and whatnot (I'm on OTC) and it seemed to be more trouble than it was worth...I *had* decided to just go on with the placebos, but had changed my mind right around pill time today and started a new pack....
But here's the thing (I am *such* an indecisive person and I hate it!) -- chances are, I'm gonna get my period anyway, at least that;s what I'm assuming, and now my question is, (you're all gonna laugh) can I got back to my placebos from the last pack, finish it out and then start the new pack (of which I have already taken the first pill)?

Yes, you can go back to the placebos in your previous pack. However, since you took one of the first week pills which have a smaller amount of progestin than the 3rd week pills you may not delay your period as you wanted. As I replied to your earlier post: “Then, if I were you I'd use the pack with only 20 active pills in it for spares in case you loose or vomit a pill. You might be ok with a 20 active pill month and then again you might not and it would mean moving your start day back again since you can not go more than 7 24-hour days without hormones and retain your protection. It's a slippery slope and if I were you I wouldn't chance it.” If I were you I’d start a fresh pack, but you might want to ask your doctor and see if s/he thinks using a 20/7 regimen will decrease the effectiveness of your protection. Let us know how you’re doing, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
