Hi guys, I called and talked with my doctor. He told me to take out the ring and call Monday if the bleeding has not stopped. I am wondering if the bleeding will start all over again because there was a certain level of hormones introduced again.

If you don't remember, I was the new girl who had forgotten to put my ring back in and ended up starting my period, the second one this month (a week apart). So I put one in thinking that I could maybe stop the flow. But to no avail apparently. So, my doc. had me take it out. Now that I've chatted away...my main question...Won't I just start my period all over again? That means 10 days of bleeding instead of 5 or 6. Ugh. Help Help Help.

Hi Shell,

You are right, removing your ring should trigger another round of withdrawal bleeding since you body isn't getting the additional hormones from the ring anymore. I hope it's short this time and you stabilize soon. Let us know how you're doing, ok,

Good luck,

Thanks Jill, you and this board have been wonderful. I am feeling like I may start again, but I honestly don't think it will or even can be much. We'll see though. My doc. said he wouldn't be surprised if I started either...only thing is, my sweetie and I have not really done anything due to our nerves and we are getting pretty frustrated. Do you think it will be ok if we continue on sexually?

Thanks again.

Continuing on is totally up to you. If you do you should use another effective method of contraception since you are no longer protected by your ring. Let us know what method you decide to use and how you’re doing, ok?

Good luck,
