I think I see this same post on the board everytime we change back and forth on daylight savings! Anyhow, our clocks go back an hour on the 31st. Does that make a big difference with the timing of taking the pill?? I know there is a 2 hour window, but would it be better to take it (in my case) at 10:00pm now until the 31st, then start taking it at 9:00pm until I finish my pack? I'm just curious, as I'm sure that other ladies are as well. Does it really matter that much?? Thanks!
Stacey

That's a good and timely question! There's good news and a caution.
The good news is that an hour doesn't matter that much with combined (estrogen/progestin) pills. The caution is that an hour DOES matter if you are on the progestin only (mini-pill) pill, or POP. With a POP +/-20 minutes is about all you're allowed as far as being on time is concerned. So pick a time switching method and date that would be most convenient for your circumstances. Thanks for posting. Let us know what you decide, ok?
Take care,
Jill
Yes, we do get this question twice a year, but usually we get it 5 or 6 times, so it will be good to get the info out there early! You've got an hour, easy. When I was taking the pill, my target time was 10:30pm, and typically I'd take it anywhere from 10:15 to midnight and not think twice about it unless I forgot until the next morning. Some role model I am! lol... Knowing what I know now, if I were still taking the pill, I still wouldn't sweat an hour.
If you -wanted- to taper the time, you could adjust by 15 minutes every day for four days before the time change, or you could take your pill a half an hour sooner or later on Saturday and then you'd be a half an hour off on Sunday....for me that's all too complicated! :p
