I have been on the shot for about 2 years... and before that I was on the pill... I recently got back on the pill last week because the shot made me gain too much weight... what im trying to ask is, did anyone get pregnant from switching b/c? and did you lose weight from switching? thanks.

As long as you switched before your next shot was due, you should be fine as far as pregnancy goes. You may want to use backup protection for the first month just so that you can get used to taking the pill at the same time every day and so that when you get to the inactive week you're not freaking out about pregnancy. Because you're coming off Depo, your first pill-period might be strange or might not come at all because of how strong Depo is. If you know you've been careful, no worries! And a month is more than enough time for the pill to be effective.

As far as the weight, that's a pretty individual thing. Some women coming off Depo lose the weight pretty quickly, but other women do have to struggle with it. Probably the best thing you can do to help yourself is to make sure you're not sabotaging your weight loss with poor eating habits or a lack of exercise.

Good luck, I hope the transition is a smooth one!

I have been working out at bally total fitness this past month since I joined for a trial... hopefully I lose the weight I gained... before I started depo I weighed 125lbs... now i weigh 139lbs... to me its a big difference... I'm trying to get back to 125lbs... me and my bf dont really use condoms, but in this case we will and hopefully he'll be very supportive like I asked him... thank you for your reply.
