I keep reading negatives about Seasonale-weight gain, btb, just not liking it. Is anyone having a good experience with this method? Or KNOW anyone having a good experience?
TIA!!!

Proud mommy to:
i just posted last night to all, but saw your discussion doing a search on seasonale. i am definitely happy on seasonale and have had no BTB. the only side effect i have is tender/swollen breasts which last from the end of my first month/pack until the middle of my third month/pack. i did notice that my breasts were less tender (but still swollen) during the second cycle of the packs.
my sex drive has never been great on any pill (i've tried 3 different kinds now), so i knew that seasonale was likely not going to fix that issue either. i'm definitely happy with my experience on this pill - but everybody's different.
hope this helps! juliana
Granted, I've never taken any other type of BC..but I love it so far.
I started a month before the wedding..and didn't really notice any weight gain..I've gained since the wedding, but that is more because of laziness with exercise.
I haven't really had any mood problems that I've noticed.
I spotted for about 4 days about 5 weeks in..but had no problems after that. I finished my first pack a few weeks ago and got my period a day after I started taking the placebo..it was 4 days and not very heavy (this is coming from a normal 7 day heavy period girl)
Honestly, my sex drive seems to have waned a little , but since I haven't tried any other BC, not sure if that's just Seasonale.
My biggest reason for loving it is twofold: 1) No matter how much convincing I've tried, my husband doesn't like having sex when I'm on my period, so the less I have it, the better. 2) I don't like Birth control methods that aren't supported by research, so that's why I didn't want to skip placebo pills of other birth control.

I'm glad Seasonale is working well for you.

Mmmm... well, yes, there were tests, but... There is nothing special about Seasonale. It is the same formulation of hormones as Nordette which is a 21/7 regimen pill that has been around for a long time. Seasonale is just manufactured by a different company and packaged in a 84/7 regimen. Thanks for posting.
Take care,
Jill
I was on Seasonale for almost 9 months and while it took a little while to get through the BTB, I was generally happy with it. I didn't notice any side effects until I got serious about losing weight which I found was IMPOSSIBLE with Seasonale, even with increased exercise (2x a day) and a fairly strict diet. I also noticed that I would lose 5+ lbs of water weight by the end of my placebo week.
So, I talked to my gyno about switching to Yasmin and she said that while Seasonale isn't known for weight gain, Yasmin is a pill that most people are happy with water-weight-wise. I have been on it now for almost 3 weeks and have lost almost 10 lbs without changing what I was doing before.
So basically, Seasonale didn't make me GAIN any more weight, for some reason it was just impossible for me to really lose any. If you don't have this concern, then it might be for you.
Hi,
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that responded to my plea for some different experiences with Seasonale.
I really appreciate your feedback!
Thanks again for sharing,
Mary
