Hi rivk24, welcome!

There are a lot of BCPs available so there may be one that's right for you but you are going to have to try them and see. It usually takes about 3 cycles for your body to adjust to the hormones in a new pill. Seasonale has a very high incidence of irregular bleeding during the first several extended cycles (3 to 6 months or so) and it's certainly our members greatest complaint about it. You can search the archives for posts about Seasonale to see what other members have said. You might like NuvaRing http://www.nuvaring.com/Consumer/index.asp It's a flexible ring that continually releases a small amount of hormones. It's worn in the vagina for 3 weeks and removed for 1 for your period. A lot of members love NuvaRing. A Mirena IUD might be ideal for you (its effectiveness lasts for 5 years) and modern IUDs are quite safe. There is a good post in the FAQs about IUDs if you want to know more about them.

Or, using a cervical barrier, a diaphragm or cervical cap, in addition to the spermicide would increase the effectiveness of your protection. Most women can be fitted for a diaphragm though for a lot of doctors they are out of fashion right now. What does your doctor recommend you try? Let us know what you decide, ok?

Good luck,
