Early periods while on pill???

Hello, first time here but I have a question. For the past 2 months I have gotten my period 1 week early. I started the pill and I was/am surprised that I am getting it early. I just had a baby in June, could that have something to do with it? And also, if I am getting my period early, there is a full week when I'm not taking the pill because I'm supposed to be having my period then...how effective is it going to work? I do not want another baby this soon!!

It can take 3 cycles or so for your body to adjust to the hormones in a new pill and any side effects to go away. If you have been taking your pills correctly; on time, haven't vomited or had diarrhea within 2 hours after taking your pill (that counts as a miss) and aren't taking any medicines or supplements that might reduce the effectiveness of your pills then you should be quite safe. Several members have posted about having Aunt Flow arrive during the 3rd week of active pills. In your case, being a new mom might be having some effect. You might want to let your doctor know what's going on and see what s/he says. If, after 3 cycles early bleeding continues and you want AF to arrive on your placebo week you can talk with your doctor about a pill change. Let us know how you're doing, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
