Color changing NuvaRing
| Sun, 10-31-2004 - 3:28pm |
Hi ladies...
When I open up the package to a fresh NuvaRing, the ring is perfectly clear. And when I take mine out after the three weeks, it's a cloudy white color.

Why does it change colors?
Thanks,
Alta

I think it's because the ring is just a bit porous and has been exposed to your vaginal fluids and releasing hormones for 3 weeks. However, to get the official answer that's a great question to ask the person who answers the NuvaRing Helpline. The number is: 1-877-NUVARING (1-877-688-2746) Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. EST. Let us know what they say, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
I don't suppose we have any materials experts here on the board, do we? Since the ring is supposed to be nonabsorbent and inert other than the hormones, I'd figure that it's got something to do with the secretion unless there's some sort of change in the exterior surface of the ring in response to the acidity of the vagina?
If you call Organon, please let us know what they said!
