o my gosh i got one heck of a suprise this morning. iv been on the patch for about 4 months iv noticed som increased hair loss but i dident think it was that bad. tell this morning when the drain in the shower wouldnt drain (sorry this is about to get grose)I used some tissue to grab the hair and thier was so mutch of it it was all caught up and i sere half hte hair on my head was in the drain at least thats the way it seemed but it was way too mutch to be just from the last three months or so. Im so glad i get to rip this dumb patch off tomarrow i hope the ring doesent cause me this problem... Now i know what my hubby has been complaining about i dident realize it had gotten that bad. im sorry if that was really grose but it kinda scared me.

edt i forgot to ask about how long do you think it will take for the evera to get out of my system after i stop it and start the ring. for me to see some improvement in the hair loss and other side effects... thanks a buntch

It will only take a few days for the hormones from OrthoEvra to leave your system. In that time, you should begin to see a reduction in your negative side effects. It`ll probably take a few weeks before you can notice a change in your hair, though. It takes a while for it to grow in, especially enough for it to be noticeable. I believe hair grows around 6 inches a year, so it may take some time for your 'do to get back to where it was, pre-OrthoEvra.

Hope the ring works out for you! Let us know how you like it - I`m really interested in giving it a try. :)

We had a memeber here a while back (several years ago, come to think of it) that had trouble with hair loss when she was taking OTC. It does happen sometimes, but it may be hard to notice when it stops happening because hair fills in so slowly.

I'm using Nuvaring, but my hair falls out mostly in response to stress. When I'm stressed out, and that seems to be quite often, I do lose hair by the handful, practically. Good thing I've got a lot of it!

I wouldn't panic if you don't notice hair regrowth right away--it's going to be hard to notice! Good luck with the ring--it's got a different progestin so hopefully the hair loss will stop!
