I'm interested in trying Implanon but haven't been able to find any information on which doctors provide it. From what I've read, it's a very simple procedure if you go to someone who's experienced and has had lots of experience inserting/removing the implants--and there can be many complications if you get someone who doesn't quite know what he/she is doing.

Any information out there on a listing of providers or ideas on how to find one?

If you're in the United States, then Implanon was only approved by the FDA a couple days ago. You can call around, but it might be a while before it's widely available. Also, since it is only just now approved, no one here would have any experience with inserting it yet unless they had been involved with the clinical trials for it.

Hi nystress, welcome!

Organon's contraceptive Implanon™ receives “approvable” status from the FDA

I don’t think ‘approvable’ is quite the same thing as ‘approved’ as far as the FDA is concerned. Implanon may nearing approval but it will probably be some time yet before Implanon is approved and available in the U.S. Implanon has been available in Europe and Australia for some time.
