3rd day on placebos-still no period???

I am on my 3rd pack of pills. With the first two packs I started bleeding about a week before the placebos, which was probably just my body getting used to the hormone change, and then got, what I'm guessing was my period, during the placebos or even a day or two before. I am now on day 3 of the placebos and have had no breakthrough bleeding whatsoever this time around or the start of my period. Is this okay? Should I be worried about anything?

Hi mapper71, welcome back!

It sounds as though your body has adjusted to the hormones in your pills. Aunt Flo usually appears between days 2 and 5 of your hormone free week but can sometimes be earlier or later. I don't think you have anything to worry about if you have been taking your pills correctly. Let us know when AF arrives, ok?

Take care,

The only time I was really late taking my pill was a few days before my last period where I took the pill about 9 hours late, but got my period although I had been having breakthrough bleeding at that point for a few days. Other than that I've been mostly taking the pill within 20 minutes of the correct time and occasionally on a Saturday or Sunday I'll be an hour to 1 1/2 late. This is considered on time though correct? Would I be reaching pretty far to say that maybe I could be pregnant from that one 9 hour miss even though I got my period a few day later?

Yep hon, that's a pretty long reach! Nine hours late this board classifies as a miss and irregular bleeding is quite common after a late or missed pill. But, if Aunt Flow came afterward then I think you should be ok. As I wrote earlier, after your body adjusts to the hormones AF typically arrives on days 2 through 5 of you placebo week. And you are on day 3, right? Even after she appears this month she will probably still be adjusting her schedule for the next several cycles so don’t be alarmed. I’ll bet she visits in the next couple of days. I think you’re going to be fine. Let us know when AF arrives, ok?

Hugs,

Guess what? Just got it! It's such a relief!! I just get so nervous at this time of the month. I'm still having a hard time trusting my birth control pill.
