Withdrawl method really works!

Hey Everybody,

I just wanted to share some information about natural birth control; I used to hear that the withdrawl method wasn't safe but I have been using it for almost a whole year now and I havn't gotten pregnant! I am healthy, non-smoking/drinking 27 years old (who has been preg. before) and my DH is non-smoking/drinking 26 year old. We are intimate about 2 to 4 times every week and we always use withdrawl. I asked my Grandmother about it and she said that she used withdrawl and it only failed her once in 7 years so for all those women out there who hate condoms and don't want to go on the pill, if your in a good relationship withdrawl really is not that bad of a choice!!

Have a great day!

I want anyone out there who would NOT be ok w/ getting pregnant to know that I got pregnant using the withdrawl method. My husband and I were separated. We went out on a date on Valentine's day. He "withdrew" and 9 months later, ta da! Child #3. I am certain it was this one encounter, b/c we were separated and it was the only time we had intercourse for months. As a matter of fact, he thought I was playing a joke on him when I told him I was pregnant b/c he didn't think that it could happen that one time.

Dr. Ruth says that there can be "thousands" of sperm in pre-ejaculatory fluid. Granted, this is compared to the millions that are in a single orgasm, but it only takes one!

I just wanted to add that my nephew was also conceived using the withdrawl method, but I'm glad it's working for you kiarabee. I wish I didn't have to worry about birth control :)

My hubby and I used withdrawal for only a couple months, and I never got pregnant, but we were afraid that I might get pregnant, so we stopped. Yeah, it worked and no pregos, but you never know!

Hi kiarabee, welcome!

I agree with rvrcitygrl!

I'm glad withdrawal has worked for you. However, while WD is theoretically quite effective it takes a great deal of skill and discipline on the part of the male partner. I think there are too many things that can go wrong to make it an effective means of contraception for most couples. Anyone who seriously doesn't want to become a parent should use an effective hormonal, chemical or barrier method of contraception. Thanks for posting your experience with WD.

Good luck,

When i first started having sex (when i was very young) i used withdrawal and all i can say is that i am lucky!! Although we were careful with it, i'd make sure that all precum was off before we started anything, but who's to say that he wouldn't precum again?!? But knowing what i know now, i'd never take that chance again unless i was willing to take on the consequences. I was very young and naive, and i can't believe being that young i'd do something so careless. I'm thankful now that i know what i do!
