Birth COntrol and Spermicide

Hey I was wondering if anyone could tell me if they know how effective it would be to use birth control pills and spermicide to prevent pregnancy? I am already on the pill but my boyfriend and I are very paranoid about me getting pregnant, and have discovered that condoms do absolutely nothing for him. SO we were looking for an alternative but can't find anything about using spermicide plus pills. Thanks for the help!

The most current information that I’m aware of for the effectiveness of various contraceptive methods is given in Planned Parenthood’s Comparison Of Effectiveness: http://www.plannedparenthood.org/bc/bcfacts2.html
Using PP’s figures, with perfect use the pill is more than 99% effective and if spermicide is used correctly and for every act of IC it is 85% effective. So, in theory, spermicide will take care of a large portion of the less than 1% risk of pill failure, again assuming both methods are used simultaneously and correctly. Does this help?
Good luck,
Jill
