Side effects of Yasmin?

I've been on Yasmin since July '04 (so about 4 mos now). About a month, or month or two ago I started experiencing very mild nausea (it isn't so bad that it causes vomiting and doesn't really effect my life, it is just mildly unpleasant). I've also noticed a change in my appetite which occured fairly recently, and was wondering if this could be related to the Yasmin? I know these are side effects of the drug, but wondered why they started a couple months in, if they are side effects. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi morny812, welcome!

I think most of the time side effects occur and disappear during the first several cycles on a new pill, but not always. If they are bearable you might give yourself another cycle or two to see if they will go away. Some women have reported weight loss on some pills and Yasmin is supposed to help eliminate weight due to water retention, but if more than that is happening it might be a good idea to talk with your doctor about your situation. Let us know how you're doing, ok?

Good luck,

Mild nausea and appetite changes can happen as a result of a wide variety of other things as well as pill use. It's possible that these are related to something else in your life (stress, etc.), but it's also possible for side effects to occur at any time, even though they're most common at first.

I hope things get resolved soon!
