Trojans v. Lifestyles

Somebody posted yesterday I think it was, and in the course of the discussion said Lifestyle condoms don't smell as rubbery as Trojans (I'm sorry, now I forget who it was!). Anyone else want to chime in on this? If others agree, or know of other brands that smell less icky, I'd like to know about it - I'd *love* to get rid of that smell - it's not exactly a turn-on!

You know, it's funny... I'm totally a "lifestyles" girl.

A question for you - are you using the "non-spermicidal" ones? I prefer those because spermicide is kind of gross anyways and sort of dangerous too. ANd I think it smells funky... but I digress.

NOW, I think lifestyles smell LESS rubbery, BUT I also think it has to do with the guy.

My second boyfriend never really smelled ever, and thus the condom (and the room) never had that sex smell. With my next bf however, I think his particular odor (though not bad), made the smell of the condom more apparent.

Weird.

But I still vote lifestyles.

I totally believe that the scent of the condom has to do with the bodies involved...my last bf & I tried different types of Trojan, and they all had some sort of ~odor~, so we switched to Lifestyles. Currently (with a different partner) we use Trojans, as it seems Lifestyles now has an ~odor~!

:-D

It was me who posted that.

We tried Trojans and hated them, they smelled just opening the package. Advanti too, yuck they crinkle!!! The lifestyles don't smell at all rubbery. We use the X-tra pleasure ones which have more space at the head of the condom. DH says it's "almost" as good as not using one.

Anyone have any good recommendations for other kinds of lifestles besides the X-tra Pleasure?

I don't use spermicide because i"m very sensitive to UTI's and spermicide seems to make them worse.

It's interesting how everyone says it depends on the guy though ...maybe we'll have to try some new brands! Maybe this is TMI, but anything that smells less is good at this point ... sex with condoms always reminds me of raw pancake batter these days, which makes me positively ILL! lol!

Thanks for the thoughts everyone!!

You know, with one of my last boyfriends, he ALWAYS loved the x-tra pleasure ones. And the best part was once I started adding just a drop or two of lube IN the condom for him and then he reallllly felt like it was almost the real thing. . . good stuff.

my boyfriend LOVES trojan warm sensations. We tired a lifestyles one that we got as a sample and I got a nasty rash...I'll never know if that was the cause but i'm certainly sceared to try it again. He also likes adding in a bit of the K-Y warming lube (i personally hate the stuff so we put the regular stuff on the outside and the warming on the inside)

Oooooooooh, I used that ky warming liquid once - but it was after some sex had started and I was needing more of a lube since I was getting a little dry and YEOWCH! Started burning. So I always say - start with it! But don't add it in the middle. ow ow. whoo.

LOL!! Never thought of that! Bf loves the warming liquid too, though, and I like/need any kind of lube so it works out.

Ya'll are a hoot!

NOTHING smells as bad as Natuarlambs!!! BARF!!!

Try the Enspirons- they are new; I didn't notice any particularly strong smell, and they have a sort of corkscrew shape- my guy likes them and they were voted #1 by Men's Health Magazine, I think.

side note: I got the results back about the rash- it wasn't an alergic reaction, the doctor called yesterday to let me know that the tests showed it had something to do with yeast... myabe i'll give them another try
