Spotting...

I know this must be a frequently asked question, but I missed a pill at the beginning of my second week, I took it when I remembered (when I took my next pill) as directed, I was completely fine. When I started spotting a few days afterwards, I didn't think much of it because that's what I've heard happens. It went away for a few days.

But then in the middle of my third week, the spotting continued and now I finished my pack and I'm supposed to start my regular period tonight (which usually is just spotting)... but I really don't like having to go through another week of spotting, or even a heavier period, if that's what I'm in for.

The last two months I haven't had a period beyond spotting for two days. So I don't really know what's going on. The only changes I would say is that I haven't been running as much as I had been the past two months. Would that be it?

Is everything still okay?

Missing a pill can definitely make those changes happen in your bleeding. I don`t think that your slowing down on running would do it or that anything it wrong. That one day that you went without the hormones in your birth control pill signalled your body to begin bleeding and when you took your pills again the next day, your uterus was like, "Uhhh...what do I do now?"

My guess is that you`ll have a light period this week, maybe just a little more spotting. If your normal period is light, then spotting all month would reduce the amount of blood in your uterus that`s going to be shed. Hey, maybe you won`t have a period at all! But chances are, there`ll be a little bit going on.

The good news is that your cycle will reset itself when you start your new pill pack.

Hope this helps!
