::hugs:: I'm sorry you have something new to worry about. I have hemangiomas on my liver, probably the same kind. I know whatever it is, it's like a birth mark on the inside. So unless there is some other kind of birth

Trisha,
Ivey sounds so much like Casey w.r.t. her need to be held and in motion all the time. I have found some much-needed encouragement and advice on the parenting your "high-needs" baby (something like that) message board on ivillage. I have also read the Berkeley Parenting Network message board for ideas (search "high needs baby" on google and you should see it). I am so sorry you are dealing with these challenges right now, and I know you will overcome them. The situation with her eye sounds very scary, and I will keep you both in my thoughts. Please keep us posted. Btw, my niece had a strawberry hemangioma under her eye that grew from about 1 week until 3 months of age. At its peak it touched the corner of her left eye and was about 1/2 inch in diameter in places. It then started fading and was completely gone by her first birthday. I know Ivey's hemangioma is slightly different, but I hope the outcome is similar. Please give your little girl a kiss from me.
love,
Marci

Hey Mary,

Yes, the estrogen reason is probably why it is 5x's more prevalent in girls than boys.

Marci,

Thanks for the tips on the boards I will DEFINITELY look into those!!

I have resigned myself to just *riding the storm out* and hoping that by 3-4 months it will be *better* when she is able to entertain herself a little.

They can be fatal, but that is really rare, which is important to remember. Believe me, I went through the whole freakout too because mine are on my liver and it's really hard to safely remove them there (if it were to become neccessary)
