hmmm...good question.
I know that you can donate blood if you are using a hormonal contraceptive. Everywhere I looked did not mention a decrease in effectiveness because of this. I think that you should be okay - after all, you all are not removing huge quantities of blood repeatedly. If you are on a birth control pill, the synthetic hormones are replenished daily and you`re certainly not having blood taken every day. For a more exact answer, though, I`d ask your doctor, although I don`t think it should affect it.
As for giving injections, as long as they`re not pumping antibiotics into you or something, you should be good. :) Just saline shouldn`t bother your birth control.
If anyone else has something to add, feel free! This is actually a pretty interesting question.
I wouldn't suspect so...women who are having breakthrough bleeding don't experience a loss of effectiveness due to blood loss, and you're not concerned when you go to the doctor for blood tests, right? I know I've given up plenty of blood that way... And you can donate blood without any problems....
I'd wager that as long as you're not losing more than a safe amount of blood (like a pint) that it's probably all right, and, as Lena mentioned, you do take a pill every day so any fluctuation would be made up for the following day.
It is an interesting question!
