ok.... im probably over reacting but i soooo need someone to calm my nerves.... im waiting for my period to come and it's usually 2 days after my pill like clock work, but now it's 2 days after and nothing yet. i know if you are on the pill and using it right there's a very slim chance but it was my first time and i really don't want to be pregnant!!!! could it just be possible it's taking a little longer this month?? i really don't want to take a test, im stressed with school and work as it is i don't need to add this to the list!

Okay, hon, first: take a deep breath. Calm down.
For most women, their periods come anywhere from day 2 to day 5 of their placebo week. Do not freak out! That only puts more stress on your body that you don`t need! As long as you have been taking your pills consistently and correctly, your chance of pregnancy is extremely low.
You`re not even late yet. If your period normally comes on day 2 and day 2 isn`t even up yet, it`s nothing to get really stressed over. The day your period comes CAN fluctuate; it`s not set in stone. A lot of stress throughout the month can change your body is ways that may change the day that your period shows up - if school and work are driving you up a wall, that may be part of it.
And if you`ve been on the pill for less than three months, your body is still adjusting to the hormones and your period will show up on different days. Even after this three month mark, some women still experience periods that kind of show up whenever they feel like it.
Stressing about it won`t help! So just try to calm down, for your sake. Don`t worry about taking a pregnancy test just yet; a day or even a few days late is usually nothing to worry about. Some women even miss entire periods while on the pill and it`s just one of the side effects. If your period doesn`t show up by the time you`re supposed to start your new pack, though, it might be a good idea just to test so you know what`s going on and you`re not worried about it.
Chances are, though, as long as you`ve taken your pills like you`re supposed to, that you`re NOT pregnant. Your period could just be a few days late, hon. Take a long bath, read a good book, and try to relax.
I hope this helps!
Lena
PS - You mention in your post that "it was my first time". If you`ve only had sex once this month, then your chances of getting pregnant are pretty nonexistant, hon. Not that having sex more necessarily increases the number of unintended pregnancies among women on the pill - because the pill halts monthly ovulation and without it, no matter at what time of the month intercourse happens, a pregnancy can`t occur. But, if for some reason, break-through ovulation occurs, a woman that has sex say, every day, is more likely to get fertilized than one that doesn`t. Hmmm, reading over that sounds really scary and like I`m saying that daily sex is bad :) I`m not trying to scare you. The pill is highly effective and break-through ovulation (when the pill has been taken correctly all month long) is suuuuuper rare. Hey, if it makes you feel better, maybe you guys should employ an extra method of birth control for a while, until you`re more comfortable with the whole thing and trust your pills a little more, like a condom or a spermicide.
WOW. Sorry this ended up being so long. :)
