I had a friend of mine tell me she isnt on BC because she was told it could make you sterile?!?! I've never heard this anywhere, is it true or nonsense?

That`s nonsense! BC doesn`t make you sterile; it just makes your body temporarily cease ovulating. Although it can take up to a year for your normal cycle to return after quitting some methods of BC, there are no long-term sterility effects.

NONSENSE! There are anecdotal (meaning not backed up by studies or clinical trials) reports of women becoming sterile after using Depo Provera, but by and large, there has been no evidence that hormonal birth control would make you sterile. This method of stopping ovulation to prevent pregnancy has been in use for, what, about 40 years? I think we'd know by now! The pill is one of the most prevalent methods of contraception used WORLDWIDE.

I hope that helps! Rest easy...
