I haven't been able to stop myself from pointing my friends to a writing exercise on the Romance Writing board. The task was to write a new version of "Sleeping Beauty." You can find my little story at http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-bcromancewri The thread is called "Your exercise should you decide..." (think "Mission: Impossible") and I write under the name butterflyblue22.

Anything you'd like to show off or share with us? What accomplishments are you proud of?

Becca :)

Well, I like to show off my stamping and my scrapbooks from time to time. I was thinking today that I ought to finish up my scrapbook (catch up) and do some heavy duty stamping because in the next few months I will be busy with baby stuff I think. My craft room is becoming the nursery. I need to do some catch up and process some of the film I have to develop. We're a bit broke right now before payday on the 15th! Who isn't though huh?

Question from a confused outsider of the scrapbooking world: Is the stamping part of the process of putting together your scrapbook? Or is it another craft entirely? I've seen some interesting pages done at workshops, etc. but I don't know if I can bring myself to cut my photos. For my lockets, I got colour photocopies so I would always have the originals unaltered. That adds more expense to the hobby, but my mum tends to do it that way. (Guess I got my love of originals from her? I keep the negatives, too, and try to remember which ones I've lent to my mum so that I'll get them back...)

You don't have to be a stamper to do scrapbooking. I find that it increases the number of projects I can accomplish with my stamps to incorporate them into my scrapbook pages. It is hard to cut up a photo for the first time, but I get so much joy from sharing my scrapbooks and pages that I feel it's worth it. I always have the original film with my advantix camera so if I need another "original" it's as easy as getting a reprint. Plus I can share my photos easier in a scrapbook than in photo albums, I take about 8 rolls of film a year, or more and so that's lots of storage space!

Thanks for the interest!
