I stopped taking my pill thursday and had unprotected sex on saturday is any chance that I could be pregnant or is that to soon after getting off the pill. ( At that time I was on my sugar pills and just finished my period) How soon could I test ? Also I exercise regularly (sit ups, pushing running) if I exercise while I didn't know I am pregnant would that cause a miscarriage?

Hi luckygrl82, welcome!
If you took the last active pill in your pack on Thursday then you should still be protected for 7 24-hour days after the last active pill. So if you had sex the following Saturday (while still on your placebo pills) I think you have little chance of a pregnancy from sex then. I don't think normal exercise should have any effect on conception or cause a miscarriage. A good test kit is accurate about 2 weeks after the day of concern.
If you are TTC you might want to get a copy of a wonderful book on the menstrual cycle, Taking Charge of Your Fertility, by Toni Weschler. TCOYF will show you how to chart your fertile signs, basal body temperature, cervical position and cervical fluid so you know when you are fertile and can concentrate your efforts during those days.
Thanks for coming by to post. If you have more questions, please ask. Keep in touch and let us know how you're doing, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
Hi luckygrl82, welcome back,
If your last active pill was on the 10th then you were not protected by the hormones from your pills during sex on the 19th. I hope things work out for you the way you want.
Please ask if you have more questions. Let us know how you're doing, ok?
Good luck and hugs,
Jill
In fertile conditions sperm can live for 5 days or more. If you were fertile on the 19th (only 3 days ago) his sperm could still be waiting in your tubes for you to ovulate. You still just have time for emergency contraception to be effective as an option, but it is most effective within the first 72 hours after the time of concern so you would have to act immediately if that’s what you choose.
>>I was planning on going back to the doctor and getting more pills now I am assuming that even if I took a test now it would come up negative so should I wait until I have a period to be sure I am not pregnant? <<
If I were you I'd start my pills again now. If it turns out you are pg. you can stop when you know for sure. I don't think there is any meaningful evidence that BCPs harm a fetus in early pregnancy, but you should stop if you find out you are pg. But, that is a great question to ask your doctor and see what s/he advises.
>>Another thing is I have been on the pill for a couple years now and my period is like clockwork every 21 day exactly but before it varied so I don't know when it will come! Would a blood test tell me this early?<<
It's been only three days so I think it's too early for even a blood test, but this is another good question for your doctor.
Keep in touch and let us know how you're doing, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
