Problems with Yasmin

A quick question for anyone who has used Yasmin or BC like it. I've been on this medicine for three months now and i'm at the end of my third pack. I've already taken 4 of my inactive pills and have yet to start my period, i have also noticed burning and itching as well as a yellowish discharge. Could a vaginal infection cause me to miss a period while on birth control? I'd really appreciate any feedback

Hi girlofgod_1985, welcome!

Since you are only on the 3rd pack of Yasmin Aunt Flo can still be moving around some. Usually AF arrives anywhere from day 2 through 5 but she can come earlier or later. I don't think you have anything to worry about just yet.

You should definitely see your doctor as soon as you can about the itching, burning and yellowish discharge. It sounds as though you might have a yeast infection. A good article on vaginal yeast infections is: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001511.htm . Or you may have Bacterial Vaginosis http://womenshealth.gov/faq/stdbv.htm .

Thanks for posting. I hope you are feeling better soon. Let us know what your doctor says and how you're doing, ok?

Good luck,
