This is my 2nd month on the pill, I had my period last month and haven't had sex since, but i took my last active pill this past saturday and now its wednesday and i still havent gotten my period. should i be worried?

Hi tlf830, welcome!
It usually takes 3 cycles or so for your body to adjust to the hormones in a new pill, patch or ring and during that time Aunt Flo can move around before she settles into a pattern. AF normally will arrive anywhere from hormone free day 2 through 5 but can be earlier or later and some women have reported skipping their periods right away when starting BCPs, but that is pretty rare I think. Missing one period when on combined (estrogen/progestin) contraceptives happens occasionally and isn’t usually a reason for concern if you have been taking your pills correctly. If you miss 2 periods in a row though you should see your doctor to find out what's going on. If you have been doing everything you should I don't think you have anything to worry about.
Since you are new to hormonal contraceptives you might want to look at the posts in our FAQs about common pill side effects, irregular bleeding and taking your pills correctly. There is a good bit more to getting the most from your pills than just taking them on time.
Thanks for stopping by. If you have more questions, please ask. Let us know how you're doing and when AF arrives, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
Hi there,
I've been on ortho-tri-lo for about 2 1/2 years now and I've found that I start my period a full 4-5 days after my last active pill so I'm sure AF is just around the corner for you.
