IUD+working out=Spotting?

I've had my mirena IUD for about a month and a half now..got thru the first period which was loooooooooong, but not bad (15 days of very light flow)...

I know that you can have some random spotting for the first few months, but the only time I do spot is after I work out-or-when I was on my period, I would bleed heavier after working out. I'm not worried about it, but there is somthing in the back of my mind that makes me wonder why (like is is moving around or somthing dumb like that?)

Anyway, just wondering if anyone else has heard/expierenced this.

Thanks

sometimes I'd spot like that....BTW my first period after getting the IUD lasted 16+ days and came every 2 weeks (for the first 3 months or so).....I wouldn't consider it uncommon to spot after heavy exercise.....but everyone's different....((HUGS))

Back in the day before I was on any sort of birth control, I used to find that when I got my period and did extensive working out, or played sport, that I would bleed quite a bit more than I would have otherwise. It doesn't sound like it's anything to worry about. I now have an IUD, and for the first few months I had random bleeding while my cycle continued to settle down from the depo shot.

So I'm sure everything is fine, and the longer you have the IUD in, the less spotting you will experience. Or at the very least, your cycle will settle down.

I work out four or five days a week and so far I have not had issues with spotting. I had the Mirena inserted in December. I'm not sure why you would be having issues wiht that.

I'm at the gym a lot...it happens mostly only when I am with my trainer (who kicks my butt) or when I put myself thru a tougher work out. Usually nothing on lighter cardio days. I'm not really worried about it and it's the only time I do spot, so I really can't complaine...just thought it was odd that exersize would trigger it.
