hello,
I just have a quick question but the story may be a little long but if someone could let me know asap what I should be thinking that would be great because I really do not like stressing myself out like I do. So...I am on birth control and I usually take it every night around 6 or 7, but Tuesday night it slipped my mind and I did not take it till about 9 and after I took it I went to bathroom and I heard if you go to the bathroom and go number two you should wait two hours before you do it so that the pill is effective. Anyways...the next night, wednesday, I took the pill around 730 and ended up having sex that night (well technically thursday morning at like 3am). We used a condom but for some reason I have this feeling that it might have fallen off because I did not really look to see if it was there when we were done, but I do not think he came inside me. But so lets just say the condom was not on would there be a chance that I could get pregnant? Thursday I took my pill at about 7 at night. I do not know if this really makes sense but if someone could just let me know what they think I would appreciate it because just in case I want to go get plan B tomorrow because it would still be in the 72 hours, if someone does say yes there is a possibilty. I am sorry I am a college student so I cannot really have a child right now. Thanks
Worried :(

Hi rae1133, welcome!
I agree with kellyann.

This board considers +/-2 hours of your regular pill time as being on-time. However, I don't think 3 hours late is enough to worry about.

It's only when you have a severe case of diarrhea within 2 hours after taking your pill that the pill hasn’t had time to be digested and that counts as a missed pill. There should be no decrease in effectiveness from a normal bowel movement.
If you have been taking your pills correctly they are 98-99% effective so even if the condom did slip off and he ejaculated in you, you should still be quite safe. I don't think you have anything to worry about but if you are really concerned then you should ask about getting emergency contraception. For more about EC see the site at: http://ec.princeton.edu/
Thanks for stopping by. If you have more questions, please ask. Let us know what you decide and how you're doing, ok?
Good luck,
