OK... so I decided that just for peace of mind I would take EC anyway. So I call my gyno this morning only to be informed that not only does she not prescribe EC, but she won't even give me the name of anyone who does! I can't remember the last time I was so angry. I mean, this is 2006, not the middle ages. People have sex, deal with it!!!
Thankfully Planned Parenthood came to the rescue. My question is this - should I continue taking my birth control pills as normal? (I am going to be VERY CAREFUL to take them on time from now on!) What is the next step?
Thanks so much, have a wonderful Monday. :)
Cheers,
MS

Hi again MS,
I'm sorry you had that confrontation with your Gyn. It seems strange to me that she would prescribe BCPs but not EC. Go figure! I'm glad you were able to get it at PP.
You should keep taking your pills on your usual schedule. You may have side effects from EC or you may not. Some women have bleeding, others don't. Some women have their periods early or late. For others their periods are on time. As I said in an earlier discussion I don't think you have anything to be worried about as far as pregnancy is concerned. For more about EC and possible side effects see the EC site at: http://ec.princeton.edu/ Thanks for the update. Let us know how you're doing, ok?
Good luck,
Jill

That would make me angry too.
