I'm back and still scared....

Hello again, and thank you for your help on my post from last week. As a reminder, I have been taking Seasonale for a while. I got a pill at my allergist's office several weeks ago, they told me that it was an antibiotic, but gave the name of the generic Claritin, so I figured that I was safe (with regard to antibiotics compromising the effectiveness of bc). I also realized that I forgot to mention that I had to skip one of my 12 weeks of active pills, because they were run over by a car (I know, sounds crazy...). I now haven't had an active pill since Saturday night, so almost 3 days, but I still have no period! I'm starting to get pretty worried. Is there a chance that making my placebo week one week earlier would have caused this? Please don't hesitate to give any advice--I'm about ready to start panic mode. Thank you again for all of your help!

Hi il_neige, welcome back!
As long as you take more than 21 active pills in a row before taking a hormone free break and as long as the break does not exceed 7 24-hour hormone free days there should be no decrease in the effectiveness of your protection. If you ever do have to take a break before you have taken at least 21 active pills then you should use back-up during the hormone free interval and until you have taken at least 7 active pills in a row while your hormonal protection is reestablished.
Thanks for stopping back by. If you have more questions, please ask. Keep in touch and let us know how you're doing, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
