strange cycle

I'm 38, taking sprintec (generic of orthocyclin) and I've been on them for almost five years. I usually take them at the same time every day, occassionally however, I will miss one day some cycles but take then it right away. I never miss more than one day. DH and I don't have intercourse as much as we used to, maybe 1-2 times a week, IF we are lucky or if I'm in the mood. My question is, I have break trough bleeding some cycles (usually if I don't take the pill at the exact time each day), this last cycle though I didn't have ANY bleeding and to prevent having a period I skipped the placebo week and started a new pkt of pills (I've done this many times). Okay, I had no spotting, no cramping, but I did have the water retention and a tight bra. Okay I started getting nervous, ( I already have five kids, yes 5) usually first sign of preg is sensitive breasts and fatigue. So my breasts weren't tender or hurting but they were full! That has gone away in the first week of my pkt. but I still feel like i'm retaining fluids. In the back of my mind I'm paranoid..."what if I'm pg and don't know it". I know you all are thinking, get a HPT... Really I shouldnt be pg but I just feel so yucky...maybe I need a new diet and exercise regiment, trying to drink more fluids.

How long have you been on one brand of pill? Is it safe? I see my GYN next Thurs for my yearly, and yes I can ask him these questions and other BC options. I'm just curious to know if any other WOMEN have felt this way "fat" bloated. What is the best BC...I don't want any breakthrough bleeding, no depression, no last minute insertion...you know? TIA

Posted this last night, no response. If someone could please give some insight on my questions about their experience w/pill and doubling up, etc.
Thank you.
