Hi,

I just started NuvaRing today and I was just wondering what other peoples experiances with it are like? It was easy to insert and seems like it'll be easy to remove. And right now I can't feel it and it's been in a few hours. Can you feel it at all during intercourse? Can he? Anyone have any specific problems with it that it might be good to know about? Thanks so much in advance.

hi!

I've been using Nuvaring since last Sept/Oct. I love how easy it is to use and that I don't have to think about it all the time.

My little bit of acne that I had (especially right before my period), cleared up almost 100%. I do notice more discharge off and on throughout the month, but that is fine and worth it for me. No weight gain. Not much moodiness, that isn't normal for me. :)

My BF says he can feel the ring when he manually stimulates me, but I don't believe he feels it during actual intercourse. If he has felt it, he hasn't mentioned it.
(If your guy does feel it and it is uncomfortable, you can take it out for sex for up to 3 hours at a time.)

Check others posts on this board, there are lots of ladies that have many good things to say about Nuvaring..and maybe a few negative ones.
Good luck, I hope you like it.

Overall, my experience on the ring was good. I loved the convenience of it, it was easy to insert/remove, etc. I did have some not so pleasent side effects, I had issues with mood swings and constant irregular bleeding, so I was only on it for 6 months. My SO said he could not feel it, but he did get "ringed" one time, so after that, I just took it out before sex.

Lol he got "ringed". I told my SO that I was starting it and he was just curious if he'd be able to feel it. I told him so far I can't feel it. And there hasn't been any problems with it slipping out yet. Checked in the shower just to be safe and it seems to be in the same place I put it last night. I told him I could take it out for up to 3 hours during sex which he thought was cool. We're going to try carefully without taking it out first just to see..

I love the Nuvaring. I've been on it for 3 or 4 months and have had no problems with it. My period has gotten shorter and no more PMS acne. It has never slipped out and I can never feel it.
The only thing is, in the beginning my BF felt it during intercourse. It was a little uncomfortable at first for him but since then he hasn't mentioned it so I don't think it gets in the way anymore.
Good Luck with it!

I have been on nuvaring for umm, 24 hours now, and so far I like it! :) I am new to it as well. I am a refugee from birth control pills. I never could seem to find one that would ward away break through bleeding. My doctor said I should try this before going to something more invasive like an IUD. I hope it works! Good luck to you.

I have slight acne and it gets worse before my period so I was hoping it might help too. Anyone know if it helps regulate at all like some pills do? I have irregular periods and sometimes they are very light and last a day other times so heavy and last 4 or 5. My doc has found no problems to cause this other then other meds I've been on. The pill helped regulate but I kept forgetting it.

Hey there! I've been a Nuvaring user since October and have had a really great experience overall. It's the first and only form of BC I have ever used and I don't think I'll ever try anything else, unless something prevented me from using the Ring (which is unlikely). In my first few weeks, I was very paranoid about it slipping out and would check that it was in place constantly. My boyfriend would also get "ringed" every single time, in those initial weeks. But I never feel it and neither does he. Over time it found its comfort zone, I guess, and it hasn't slipped out or ringed him for several months now. I have no complaints at all. My period usually arrives between 2 and 3 days after removing it (removing is a piece of cake!), and it's noticeably lighter and way shorter than before. I used to have horrible cramps and very heavy periods, but it's completely manageable and hassle-free now. I love the simplicity of the Ring and also its effectiveness. I don't know why anyone would NOT use it. It's very hard to goof it up! What WOULD mess with the effectiveness is leaving it in too long or being ring-free for more than 7 days. I used to freak out about that, but have found a very simple solution: I take the ring out Thursday morning, and re-insert it anytime on the following Wednesday. That way it's never a full 7 days without the ring. Also, I have my Yahoo! calendar set up so that it reminds me when to remove and insert, and I've set it up to text message me those reminders too. It's so easy that I recommend it to all my friends! Good luck -- hopefully your experience will be just as awesome as mine (and most others' on this board) :)

"ringed" heheheh!

So far my guy hasn't ever been ringed, but I would love for it to happen! That just seems like it would be so funny!

Also, I forgot to add earlier that the ring has made my period lighter and maybe even shorter.. (I can't remember at the moment.)

I used it for three years, and I didn't have any issues with it.

The only problem I had with it was that it once came out and I didn't realize for a couple days. Fortunately I didn't have sex, so there wasn't any danger of accidental pregnancy, but it was unnerving nonetheless. I ultimately went back to the pill - the ring was $30/month and the pill was $5.
