Hi everyone,

I've been scanning the boards, but I thought I'd just post, while I make a call to my doctor.

I have had a low libido since I've started on Yasmin (about 4 years ago). I just thought it was the lack of attraction to my now DF. However, I'm not so sure anymore. I did try Zovia at one point, but after two months, it literally made me

Well, my doctor is giving me a sample of Ortho Tricyclen. I know a lot of people here said it killed their libido, but I guess at this point, it may be trial and error.

If anyone has any opinions or thoughts, by all means, post away still.

Any birth control pill can reduce your libido because it reduces both your testosterone production as well as causing a binding of some of the free testosterone in your bloodstream.

Thanks. They gave me OTC-lo. I'm not sure, I looked at my formulary, and the ring isn't covered, I did ask him about it. He chose to give me OTC-Lo instead. I don't think that's covered either. Maybe it was cuz I used to take Ortho Novum 7/7/7? weird.

If this doesn't work, he gave me 3 packs (so that's the trial period we always discuss), maybe I'll try the ring. Because I don't need BCP, it'd be nice NOT to have to take a pill everyday (on the other hand, if i miss a pill, i don't sweat it. lol).

Yes, I know, but thank you. :) I was on ON7/7/7 for like 10 years. And my libido was always thru the roof. I switched to Yasmin, and it stopped. I wasn't in a r'ship, so I just figured that was it. lol. then I started dating my DF and well, I wasn't sexually attracted to him at first, so i thought that was it. well, now i'm thinking it's the yasmin. 4 years, and while on THAT pill? lol.

Do you think the doctor KNOWS what pill to prescribe for what problems? i ask because my doc is also my primary physician, and isn't a "gyno", he's a "family doctor". I'm thinking I should switch to this one woman, and keep her as my "gyno" and him for "other things". Because she's an actual "ob/gyn". he's not.

Hmm...........I'll try this one, and if not, I'll do more research on my own. Like I siad, I had a libido......now it's someplace and I can't seem to remember where I left it. lol

I don't think most doctors, gyns or otherwise, know what pills to prescribe for which problems!

"though there are days when I'm the only one in there that isn't pregnant!"

LOL. Ohmigod, isn't that the truth. I had this GREAT ob/gyn, and I probably WAS the only one there that wasn't pregnant. And this lady I just went to, yup, tons of kids or pg mom's in the office. But........I just found out yesterday that I have precancerous cells on my cervix (in or on?), and so I think I'm going to call my doc and ask him or the other gyn I went to, to suggest someone who kinda specializes in this, but isn't a specialist. I want ONE person to keep an eye on this and do any procedures necessary, not a ton of docs.

Ugh. this just sucks. I also found out I have HPV, not sure when i got that, but I didn't realize it can cause a lot of abnormal pap's.

BTW, I'm just sharing all this, for anyone's knowledge. Scary!

I decided to start to OT-Lo today. instead of having my period. mostly cuz of my wedding and all that. We'll see if I'm totally wacko, or what. lol.
