I've been lurking here for a while, reading up and trying to get some information. I'm concerned that I haven't seen a period yet. I stopped the pill at the end of March mid-cycle; I hadn't been very good about taking it and decided that I should use something else. I was on Alesse-28 and for only 4 months. Any time I missed more than 2 pills I would start to bleed.
After I stopped the pill, I bled for just under a week, starting 3 April. Since then, I have not had a period, no spotting, no sight of blood whatsoever. This is a little unusual because I usually have some kind of mid-cycle bleeding (before and even during the pill). I have had sore nipple and annoying feelings of constipation (I can go eventually, but it hurts, as if there is a lot of pressure in my bowels). I've also been getting bad headaches. Not under stress, no major life changes, and I don't know what would cause me to miss a period. I am on CD 34 today. I thought I would at least see some spotting or cramps or something.
I know that some women take a while getting back on a normal cycle, but I wasn't on the pill very long and it was a low-dose. I am calling my clinician on Monday. I took a HPT last week, it was negative, though probably not saying much as I wasn't officially late.
Are there other experiences like this? IF so, what were your circumstances? I wasn't trying to get PG, but I wouldn't be upset if I was.
Thanks, Ladies!

Hi booklove, welcome!

Hi Jill. Thanks for replying.
My cycles were regular before I was on the pill, which is why I expected them to return to their regularly scheduled programs! ;)
If that was "withdrawl" bleeding and pill-period (as I had a period 2 weeks before that), then I should have expected my period sooner? Would the withdrawl bleeding affect when my next period came? I am so confused. Sorry.
I will call my doctor on Monday. I'm just usually pretty regular so I'm a little annoyed. I have no feelings of AF starting whatsoever. :\
Thanks again!
I would count the first day of your last pill-period (April 3rd) as the first day of your cycle. As of that date you were adding no new hormones and your body is getting back to doing its own thing… AF will come when ever your body is ready. If you are going to stay off hormones and want to monitor what’s going on with your cycle you could start charting your cycles so you can tell when you ovulate. That is particularly useful when you are TTCing or using FAM to avoid pregnancy. A very good book on the menstrual cycle is Toni Weschler’s Taking Charge of Your Fertility.

I noticed that when I stopped the ring (stopping the pill would have been the same), my nipples would become extremely sensitive in the 3-4 days prior to ovulation.
