depo & bone loss

Hi,
I'm not here to start a debate, ok? I have a 6-wk postpartum appt next week & am considering depo since I am breastfeeding. Can you tell me about bone loss associated with depo? I will probably only have 3 shots max because we will wean then.
Other options include minipill & mirena iud, I'm afraid I'll forget minipill. dh's ex had an iud & he felt the strings, as did my friend's dh with hers.
I'd love to use something like norplant but it's not an option in the u.s. I used norplant before & loved it.
Thanks.

I think the recommendation for using Depo is to use it for less than two years, and only if there are no other

I know that the minipill is dependable especially with bf, and I took it one other time with no trouble. I just don't want an oops baby and be dependable taking it and going back to work with a two month old. It's too big a risk for me at this time and an oops baby is not an option at this time in my marriage.
Dh is opposed to the iud as he has had bad experience with that in the past.
I am one who has only had trouble with hormones once in all of the hormonal methods that I have tried, and that was with Mircette. It caused me to be very dry and have a low libido. Norplant, minipill and every other bcp have caused no trouble at all for me. I guess I am comfortable with the odds.
I will discuss this in depth with my dr before moving forward.
Thanks for your input.
